Slide the shift lever linkage assembly inward (towards the front of the vehicle - No Gap) when inspection is complete.
7.
If the shift lever is operating under normal movement conditions, no further action is required.
8.
If the shift lever is operating under abnormal movement conditions, replace the shift lever with the redesigned part.
SHIFT LEVER LINKAGE REPLACEMENT:
1.
Disconnect the negative terminal (C) on the battery and remove the air cleaner assembly (D).
2.
Remove the select lever fixing bolt (E) and remove the select lever.
Tightening torque: 2.0 - 2.7 kgf-m (14.5 - 19.5 lbf-ft.)
3.
Remove the shift lever mounting bolt (F) and pin (C) and then remove the shift lever.
Tightening torque: 2.0 - 2.7 kgf-m (14.5 - 19.5 lbf-ft.)
