Brake Bleeding: Service and Repair
1.
Observe following precautions when bleeding brake system.
a. Carefully monitor brake fluid level at master cylinder during bleeding procedure.
b. Fill reservoir with new Dot 3 brake fluid.
c. Ensure fluid level is full at all times.
2.
Connect a transparent vinyl tube to air bleeder valve.
3.
Fully depress brake pedal several times.
4.
With brake pedal depressed, open air bleeder valve to release air.
5.
Release brake pedal slowly.
6.
Repeat steps 3 through 5 until clear brake fluid comes out of air bleeder valve.
7.
On models less ABS, bleed system in following order:
a. Left rear caliper.
b. Right rear caliper.
c. Left front caliper.
d. Right front caliper.
8.
On ABS models,bleed system in following order:
a. Left rear caliper.
b. Right rear caliper.
c. Left front caliper.
d. Right front caliper.
e. Front side air bleeder on ABS actuator.
f.
Rear side air bleeder on ABS actuator.
