AFFECTED VEHICLES

All 1988-91 Trooper II (KT), Pickup (TF), Amigo (TC) and Rodeo (UC) models with manual locking hubs.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Front manual locking hub assemblies are no longer available from American Isuzu Parts Distribution Network (AEPDN). A failed hub can be repaired
using a manual locking hub repair kit (see "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin).

This Service Bulletin describes how to install the manual locking hub repair kit.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Remove hub assembly from vehicle as described in the appropriate Workshop Manual.

2.

Remove and discard snap ring securing hub inner assembly in hub lock body. Remove and discard hub inner assembly.

3.

Use cleaning solvent to remove any debris from the hub lock body and hub cover assembly.

4.

Apply a small amount of high temperature wheel bearing grease to the outer edges of the hub cover assembly clutch and the new hub inner
assembly ring.

5.

Install the new hub inner assembly (provided in the repair kit) to the hub lock body assembly.

6.

Install the new snap ring (provided in the repair kit) to secure the inner assembly.

7.

Reinstall the hub lock body assembly as described in the appropriate Workshop Manual.

8.

Reinstall the hub cover assembly as described in the appropriate Workshop Manual, using the new gasket provided in the repair kit.
