Oil Pan: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
2. Remove battery negative cable, then drain oil into a suitable container.
3. Remove flywheel dust cover.
4. Remove engine mount fixing nut.
5. Remove oil pan fixing bolts and nuts.
6. Remove oil pan by using oil pan seal cutter J-37228 or equivalent to shear sealant off. 

INSTALLATION

1. Apply sealant TB-1207C or equivalent to the oil pan cylinder body fitting surfaces.
2. Tighten the oil pan fixing bolts and nuts to 13 ft. lbs.
3. Tighten the engine mount fixing nuts to 41 ft. lbs.
4. Install the flywheel dust cover.
5. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
