Liftgate Window Glass: Procedures
Window Replacement - Lift Gate
Removal Procedure
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the liftgate is closed before starting the removal procedure on the liftgate window.
1. Remove the center high mount stop lamp (CHMSL).
2. Remove the center high mount stop lamp (CHMSL) applique to expose the hinge pins and C-clips for the liftgate window.
3. Open the liftgate window (1).
CAUTION: Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.
4. Remove the liftgate window handle bolts (3).
5. Remove the outside handle (4) and striker from the liftgate window.
6. Remove the liftgate window defogger electrical connectors (2) from the right and left sides.
CAUTION: When a lift gate hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the
vehicle or personal injury.
7. With the aid of an assistant remove the struts (3) from the liftgate window.
