1996 HOMBRE (TH) WIND NOISE FROM PASSENGER-SIDE DASH WITH MAX A/C AND LOW FAN SPEED SET

AFFECTED VEHICLES

1996 Hombre (TH) models equipped with A/C.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Some affected vehicles may experience a wind rush noise coming from the passenger-side dash when the mode knob is set to MAX A/C and the fan
control is set for low speed. This noise usually occurs at vehicle speeds of approximately 35 mph and grows louder as vehicle speed increases. This
condition may be caused by improper sealing of the air inlet assembly.

To repair this condition, replace the existing air inlet assembly with a new, improved air inlet assembly (Part No. 8-52478-136-0). Also, replace the
existing air inlet gasket with a new one. Refer to page 1A-13 of the 1996 Hombre (TH) Workshop Manual Book 1 (TH096-WSM-L01 Book 1) for
replacement details.

When all repairs have been completed, check for proper A/C operation and elimination of the wind noise condition.
