SERVICE INFORMATION
Some customers may comment on brake squeal during initial light brake application and at low speeds. This squeal type sound is caused by a
high-frequency vibration of the brake pads against the rotating brake rotor and is unavoidable due to brake pad and brake rotor friction.
Proper installation of OEM brake hardware and applying anti-seize compound (or equivalent high temp anti-rattle compound) to the brake pad backing
will dampen and reduce this vibration. However, the level of vibration varies due to outside temperature, humidity, road conditions (mud, dust and road
salt), and brake pad lining condition.
IMPORTANT:
Do not apply anti-seize compound (or equivalent high temp anti-rattle compound) to the brake lining or rotor. Brake lining contamination will reduce
braking efficiency.
If the brake squealing is exceptionally loud, then a brake inspection should be performed. However, it is always important to confirm the severity of the
brake squeal prior to performing any repairs. This could avoid any misconceptions that customers could develop regarding the operation of their Isuzu
vehicle's brakes.
NOTE:
The customer should be made aware, that some brake squeal may be heard under normal braking conditions.
