7. Remove the oil filter adapter and the oil filter adapter gasket.
8. Discard the oil filter adapter gasket.
9. Remove the oil filter adapter seal (O-ring).
10. Discard the oil filter adapter seal (O-ring).
11. Clean all sealing surfaces.
12. Remove the oil filter bypass valve.
13. Clean and inspect valve bore for damage.
