Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Oil Pan Replacement (Four Wheel Drive)
Removal Procedure
Caution: Disconnect the battery negative cable.
1. Remove the oil level indicator.
2. Remove the front differential assembly.
3. Remove the starter.
4. Remove the transmission cover.
5. Remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the engine oil into a suitable container.
6. Remove the remote oil filter pipe adapter.
7. Remove the bolt holding the remote oil filter inlet and outlet hose clip to the oil pan.
8. Remove the bolt holding the bracket for the starter wire harness and if equipped, the transmission cooler pipes.
