Repair Time Requirements
According to the terms of the agreement, American Isuzu Motors Inc and the dealer have 45 days from the date the customer first brings the vehicle in to
resolve the customers claim for repair under this warranty. If you decide to refuse a customers claim for repair under this warranty because you suspect
accidental damage, tampering, or lack of proper maintenance, notify the National Owner Relations Department immediately at 1-800-255-6727. This
will allow us to thoroughly investigate the customers claim within the 45 day timeline.
Reimbursement
Customers from the State of California must submit requests for reimbursement directly to American Isuzu Motors Inc, per instructions in the owner
letter.
These customer requests for reimbursement are for any previously paid repairs to, or replacement of, the Sequential Central Port Fuel Injection (SCPI)
system. Repairs must have occurred within 10 years of the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, or 100,000 miles (whichever occurs first).
The requests are to be submitted within two (2) years of the date on which the repair was paid.
When a customer requests reimbursement, they must provide the following:

Proof of ownership at time of repair.

Original paid receipt or invoices confirming the amount of un-reimbursed repair expense(s), a description of the repair, the date repaired, and the
person or entity performing the repair.
Service Procedure
Step 1: System Check
Use Strategy - based diagnosis listed in the front of the Driveability and Emissions section of the workshop manual. If the SCPI system is
operating properly, inform the customer that the vehicle does not have the condition listed in the owner letter. If poor driveability conditions
persist, inform the customer that any further diagnosis and repairs will be at the customer's expense (if the vehicle is outside the parameters of the
new vehicle warranty).
Step 2: SCPI Injector Cleaning Procedure
If diagnosis leads to sticking poppet nozzles, follow the service procedures below.
1.
Loosen the fuel filler cap to relieve vapor pressure in the fuel tank.
2.
Remove the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) clean air tube from the air inlet tube and set aside.
3.
Remove the bonnet and inlet tube from the throttle body.
4.
Remove the brake booster vacuum hose and connector from the intake manifold.
5.
Remove the electrical connector from the CSFI fuel metering body.
6.
Remove ignition wires 1, 3, and 5 from the distributor cap.
7.
Remove the fuel line bolt (4) at the rear of the intake manifold. (Figure 1)
