Spare Tire: Service and Repair

Spare Tire Carrier Replacement 

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the spare tire from the tire carrier.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.

3. Remove the hoist mounting nuts.
4. Remove the hoist mounting bolts.
5. Remove the pin and the retainer.
6. Remove the hoist from the rear crossmember.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the hoist to the rear cross member. Align the hoist with the rear crossmember and the shaft.
2. Install the pin and the retainer.
3. Install the hoist mounting bolts.
4. Install the hoist mounting nuts.

Tighten

Tighten the hoist mounting nuts to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).

5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Install the spare tire to the carrier.
