Camshaft Gear/Sprocket: Service and Repair
TOOLS REQUIRED

J 22888-20 Crankshaft Sprocket Remover.
^
J 5590 Crankshaft Gear Installer.
^
Or equivalents.
REMOVAL
1. Remove the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement
2. Rotate the crankshaft until the number 1 piston is at Top Dead Center (TDC) of the compression stroke.
NOTE: Make sure the dot on the timing chain sprockets line up.
3. Remove the timing chain tensioner bolts.
4. Remove the timing chain, tensioner and camshaft sprocket at the same time.
5. Remove the crankshaft sprocket. Refer to J 5590.
