5. Remove the exhaust manifold nuts.
6. Remove the exhaust manifold.
7. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket.
CLEANING
Clean the following items:
1. Clean the threads of the exhaust manifold studs.
2. Clean the threads of the exhaust manifold nuts, or replace.
3. Clean the gasket sealing surface on the cylinder head.
4. Clean the gasket sealing surface on the exhaust manifold.
INSPECTION
1. Inspect the manifold for the following problems:

Cracks
^
Broken flanges
^
Gasket sealing surface damage
2. Inspect the flatness of the exhaust manifold mating surfaces. Use a straight edge and a feeler gage. Replace the exhaust manifold if sealing surfaces
are warped.
INSTALLATION
1. Install a new exhaust manifold gasket.
2. Install the exhaust manifold.
