1997 Hombre (TH) models with 4.3L V6 engine.
SERVICE INFORMATION
A 1997 mid-model year production change involving the Throttle Body and Accelerator Cable has occurred on Hombre (TH) V6 models. The throttle
cable cam on the Throttle Body has been re-designed. This causes the throttle blade to open sooner for a given throttle position. When replacing the
Throttle Body or the Accelerator Cable, the correct components must be used.
IMPORTANT: The use of an incorrect Accelerator Cable will result in either a raised idle speed (Accelerator Cable too short), or an inability to obtain
W.O.T. (Accelerator Cable too long).
When ordering service parts, determine which Throttle Body the engine is currently equipped. The correct Accelerator Cable must be used.
A bar code label (2) on the front of the Throttle Body (1) shows the last four (4) digits of the Throttle Body part number. (Figure 1)
