Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to the A/T Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement.
2. Remove the throttle body. Refer to the Throttle Body Assembly Replacement (SFI).
3. Remove the TP sensor attaching screws (1).
4. Remove the TP sensor (2).
Installation Procedure
1. With the throttle valve in the normal closed (idle) position, install the throttle position sensor (2) on the throttle body assembly.
Important: Install the new TP sensor attaching screws when replacing TP sensor.
2. install two TP sensor screws (1).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
Refer to the Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
3. Install the throttle body. Refer to the Throttle Body Assembly Replacement (SFI).
4. Install the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to the Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement.
