Steering Gear: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
Check Valve
PROCEDURE
1. Remove the steering gear from vehicle, then remove the check valve (18) from the gear by prying from housing with a small screwdriver.
NOTE: Use care not to damage threads of housing when removing check valve.
2. Assemble the check valve (18) by using a 3/8-inch diameter piece of tubing 100 mm (4 inches) long to drive into housing.
3. Install the steering gear after installing the check valve in the steering gear.
