Control Arm Bushing: Service and Repair
Upper Control Arm
Removal
NOTE: The Special Service Tools (SSTs) needed to complete this procedure are a J 22269-1 control arm bushing fixture and a J 21474-01 control arm
bushing service set.
1. Remove the upper control arm from the vehicle.
2. Mount the upper control arm in a vise.
3. Remove the washers and nuts.
4. Remove the upper control arm bushings, using the J 22269-01, and J 21474-5 tools.
5. Detach the upper control arm shaft from the upper control arm.
Installation
NOTE: The Special Service Tool (SST) needed to complete this procedure is a J 22269-01 control arm bushing fixture.
1. Attach the upper control arm shaft into the upper control arm.
2. Insert the upper control arm bushings into the upper control arm, using the J 22269-01 tool and a short piece of pipe the same outer diameter as
