Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
Installation
PROCEDURE
1. Press the upper and lower ball joints into the knuckle.
2. Install the knuckle gasket.
3. Install the splash shield onto the knuckle.
4. Insert the bolts into the splash shield and tighten the bolts to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).
5. Insert the tie rod end into the knuckle using the J 29193 tool and tighten the J 29193 to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) and remove the tool.
6. Install the nut and tighten to 53 Nm (39 ft. lbs.).
7. Attach the rotor then adjust the wheel bearing.
8. Attach the tire and wheel assembly then lower the vehicle.
9. Check front wheel alignment.
