Flywheel: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise the vehicle.
3. Remove the transmission.
4. Remove the clutch assembly (if equipped).
5. Remove the flywheel bolts.
6. Remove the flywheel.

INSTALLATION 

1. Install the flywheel.
2. Install the flywheel spacer.

NOTE:  You must thoroughly remove the old thread adhesive from the flywheel bolts and bolt holes. Use a round nylon bristle brush in order to
remove the old adhesive. Apply an approved thread locking compound to all flywheel bolts. Carefully follow the instructions that are included
with the thread locking compound in order to ensure that the bolts are retained properly.

3. Install the flywheel bolts.

Tighten the flywheel bolts to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).

4. Install the clutch assembly (if equipped).
5. Install the transmission assembly.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
