SERVICE INFORMATION
Affected vehicles currently use a single-part, moisture-cure urethane adhesive (Part No. 8-12346-284-0) to retain the windshield to the body opening.
This adhesive requires a minimum curing time of 6 hours at room temperature before the vehicle can be returned to the customer.
A new, two-part, moisture-cure urethane adhesive is now available: Essex Beta Seal U216. This new adhesive requires a curing time of only 1.5 hours
before the vehicle can be returned to the customer.
The American Isuzu Parts Distribution Network (AIPDN) has discontinued stock of the single-part adhesive (Part No. 8-12346-284-0). It will also not
carry the Essex Beta Seal U216. This new product must be purchased from retail automotive supply outlets.
Essex Beta Seal U216 requires primers on the glass and pinchweld surfaces. It also requires a special applicator for mixing and dispensing the adhesive.
When using this product, be sure to follow the manufacturer's directions for application and drying times.
NOTE
If you sublet windshield installation, be sure to provide a copy of this Service Bulletin to the sublet facility (i.e., body shop, glass installer, etc.). This
windshield will ensure that the repair is done to Isuzu quality standards.
