Removal Procedure
1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service
and Repair/Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill))Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill) (See: Engine, Cooling and
Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and Repair/Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill)) .
2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2) (See: Service and Repair/Refrigerant Recovery and
Recharging (Non HP2)) .
3. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding /
Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement) .
4. Release the heater hose clamps using J 43181.
5. Disconnect the heater hose quick connects (2) and (3) from the heater core.
6. Remove the retaining nut from the TXV stud.
7. Remove the evaporator tube and suction hose from the TXV.
