SERVICE INFORMATION
Isuzu has redesigned the tailgate opener cable. The new cable will offer a significant reduction in the force necessary to open the tailgate.
As shown in the first illustration below, the previous design utilizes a steel sheath. Contained inside is the moveable cable onto which antifriction
material has been wrapped.
The new design, shown in the second illustration, incorporates a steel sheath with a teflon (anti-friction) coating bonded to the inside. The actuating cable
glides inside this new housing.
