1.

 Remove cluster assembly, then connect leads of tester as shown by arrows in Fig. 50.

2.

 Turn inner cable slowly and check that tester indicates a continuity and an open circuit condition alternately.

3.

 If not satisfactory, replace speedometer assembly.
