Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair

    This component is non-serviceable and must be replaced as a unit, do not try to disassemble components.

1.

Remove undercover, then inner liner, Fig. 83.

2.

Disconnect harness connectors.

3.

Remove radiator reservoir tank.

4.

Disconnect brake lines from hydraulic unit, then cap lines to prevent entry of foreign material into brake system.

5.

Remove ground strap retaining bolt, then ground cable.

6.

Remove bracket fixing bolt, then hydraulic unit fixing nuts.

7.

Remove hydraulic unit from vehicle.

8.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque hydraulic unit fixing nuts, bracket fixing bolts and ground cable retaining bolt to 17 ft. lbs.
b. Torque brake line joint bolts to 14 ft. lbs.
c. Torque brake line joint nuts to 9 ft. lbs.
d. Bleed brake system.
