Seat Belt Reminder Lamp: Description and Operation
KEY-IN IGNITION WARNING
When the ignition key switch is closed, battery voltage is applied to the PNK/BLU wire of the chime. With the driver's door open, ground is
provided at the GRY/RED wire of the chime and the chime sounds.
SEAT BELT WARNING
With the ignition switch in ON or START, battery voltage is applied to the seat belt warning light from fuse 7. With the driver's seat belt
unbuckled, the chime senses ground at the BLU wire. With the ignition key in the ON position, the seat belt warning light flashes for four to eight
seconds. Also if the driver's seat belt is unbuckled, the chime will sound for the same amount of time.
LIGHTS-ON WARNING
With the light switch in HEAD or PARK, the light switch applies battery voltage to the chime at the GRN/ RED wire. When the driver's door is
opened, the chime receives a ground at the GRY/RED wire, and the chime will sound until the lights are turned off.
