Remove the horn harness connector bracket (Figure 4).

Remove the ignition key and ensure the steering wheel is locked.

Remove and discard the steering wheel fixing nut.

Position the new reinforcement plate (provided in kit) to the steering wheel center plate. See Figure 4.

Set the horn harness connector bracket on the plate, ensuring that the "L" portion of the bracket is properly positioned on top of the plate, as shown
in Figure 4.

11.

Reinstall the steering wheel center plate, using the screws removed in Step 5. Torque to 22.1 in.lbs. (2.5 N-m).

12.

Install the new steering wheel fixing nut (provided in kit). Torque nut to 25.1 ft.lbs. (34 N-m). Ensure horn wiring harness is in place as shown in
Figure 4, to prevent damaging the harness.

NOTE 
If the horn wiring harness is pinched, it may cause the horn to sound continuously.

While carefully supporting the SIR module, reconnect the SIR connector and lock it securely in place.

14.

Rehook the lead wire on the back side of the SIR module.

15.

a. Turn the steering wheel 90~ from the neutral position and, from the lower side of the steering wheel, reinstall the two bolts that were removed in
Step 2a. Torque bolts to 44.3 in.lbs. (5 N-m).

b.

Turn the steering wheel 90~ in the other direction from the neutral position and reinstall the two bolts that were removed in Step 2b. Torque
bolts to 44.3 in.lbs. (5 N-m).

16.

Untape and reconnect the negative battery cable terminal.

17.

Turn the ignition key to "ON". The SIR warning lamp should flash 6 to 9 times and then go off. If the SIR warning lamp does not operate
properly, refer to Section 9J, Chart C of the appropriate Workshop Manual.

18.

Affix a campaign label to the inside of the driver's door. Using a ball-point pen, fill in label with Campaign Number 92-V-091 and dealer code.
