While supporting the module (Figure 2), carefully unhook the lead wire from the back of the module.

Unlock the SIR connector by lifting the connector lock (Figure 3). Then disconnect the SIR connector.

Set the SIR module aside, face up.

WARNING 
When carrying a live SIR module, make sure the bag and interior trim cover are pointed away from you. Never carry the SIR module by its wires or
connector. Also, when placing a live (undeployed) SIR module on a bench or other surface, always face the bag and trim cover up, away from the
surface. These precautions are necessary so that in the unlikely event of an accidental deployment, the bag will deploy with a minimal chance of injury.

5.

Remove two steering wheel center plate screws and the horn harness connector bracket screw from the steering wheel center plate. Save all three
screws.
