Wide Open Throttle Switch: Adjustments
THROTTLE VALVE SWITCH CHECK
1.
Check that accelerator pedal and control cable operation are smooth.
2.
Check that the throttle valve returns fully and rests firmly against the throttle valve stopper screw.
NOTE: The throttle valve stopper screw is factory set and sealed with paint. The setting should not be altered unless absolutely necessary.
3.
Disconnect throttle valve switch electrical harness and check for continuity with an ohmmeter at the following throttle positions:

THROTTLE VALVE SWITCH ADJUSTMENT
1.
Open throttle, place a 0.6 mm (0.024 in) feeler gauge on stop screw and close throttle on gauge.
2.
Remove electrical connector from throttle valve switch.
3.
Connect ohmmeter black lead to pin "P" and red lead to pin "I." Ohmmeter should read "0" (closed circuit).
4.
If ohmmeter does not read "0," loosen throttle valve switch mounting screws and rotate switch just to the point where continuity is obtained.
Tighten screws.
5.
Depress accelerator pedal. Continuity should cease when throttle valve is very slightly off its stop.
6.
Move ohmmeter red lead from pin "I" to pin "F." With throttle in wide open position, continuity should exist.
