Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove air cleaner attaching bolts, then loosen clamp bolt.
4. Remove air pump, then the alternator bracket.
5. Remove manifold cover attaching bolts, then the manifold cover.
6. Remove EGR pipe clip from upper portion of transmission and disconnect EGR pipe from exhaust manifold.
7. Disconnect oxygen sensor wiring at connector.
8. Remove exhaust pipe to manifold attaching nuts, then disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold.
9. Remove exhaust manifold attaching nuts, then the exhaust manifold.

10. Reverse procedure to install.
11. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
