Brake Lamp: Description and Operation
This circuit consists of a stoplights, high mounted stoplight, stoplight switch (w/o cruise control system), brake switch (w/cruise control system), backup
lights, backup light switch, horn, turn signal lights, turn signal switch and flasher unit.
The stoplights are always supplied with battery voltage so that they illuminate whenever the brake pedal is depressed.
With the starter switch in "ON" position, the backup lights and turn signal lights are supplied with the battery voltage.
The backup lights illuminate whenever the gear is shifted to reverse position in both A/T and M/T.
The horns are always supplied with battery voltage, and they sound when the horn switch is turned on and then the horn relay operates.
The front and rear turn signal lights and the indicator light in the meter blink when the turn signal switch is turned on.
When the hazard switch is turned on, the power path to the flasher unit is changed over and the hazard warning lights blink regardless of the starter
switch position.
