INSTALLATION

1. attach the new spring assembly onto the vehicle noting that the  leaf spring assembly should be installed so that the shorter length (a) (distance

between center bolt and center of spring eye) is toward the front.

2. Insert the rubber bushing e by applying rubber grease to the inside and outside of the rubber bushing.
3. Insert the spring pin then install the nut and washer tightening it to 152 Nm (113 ft. lbs.)
4. Install the outer shackle to the vehicle by tightening the nut and washer to 98 Nm (73 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the U-bolt and seat, then attach the spring clamp by tightening the U-bolt nut and washer to 66 Nm (49 ft. lbs.).

Spring Bushing

PROCEDURE

1. To replace the bushing, first remove the spring assembly.
2. Remove the old bushing by first placing the leaf spring in a bench press and press the bushing out.
3. After pressing out the old bushing remove pieces of old bushing, burrs or corrosion from the spring bushing bore.
4. Install the bushing into the spring assembly by placing the leaf spring in a bench press and pressing the bushing in.
5. Attach the spring assembly back onto the vehicle.

REMOVAL

1. After removing the spring assembly place a reference mark across the assembly.
