a)

Disconnect the harness connectors. (Figures 1 and 2)

b)

Remove the Coil Integrated Module Torx screws that secure the Coil Integrated Module to the Hydraulic Unit. (Figure 3)

CAUTION:

Remove the Torx screws carefully or damage to Torx screws may occur.

NOTE:

During Coil Integrated Module replacement, visually inspect the Hydraulic Unit harness and plastic gasket within the Hydraulic Unit for damage
caused by excessive heat (melt/burnt). If damage is found, please follow the appropriate workshop manual for Hydraulic Unit (FHCU) replacement.

Remove the Coil Integrated Module from the Hydraulic Unit. (Figure 3)

d)

Clean the Coil Integrated Module mounting surface on the Hydraulic Unit with a clean shop towel.

e)

Attach the new Coil Integrated Module to the Hydraulic Unit. (Figure 3)

IMPORTANT:

The Coil Integrated Modules are not interchangeable between 2WD and 4WD drivetrains. Make sure that a 2WD Coil Integrated Module is installed
only on a 2WD vehicle and a 4WD Coil Integrated Module is installed only on a 4WD vehicle.

f)

Install the Torx screws to the Hydraulic Unit and tighten to the specified torque of 39 lb in.

g)

Install the harness connectors.

5.

After the repair has been completed, reconnect the battery ground terminal.

6.

Turn the ignition key ON and verify that no ABS code exists.
