CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
Number OOV-058 has been assigned to this campaign. This number will appear on all communications and documentation of any nature dealing with
the campaign.

All 1998 - 1999 RODEO (UE)/AMIGO (UA) MODELS
SERVICE INFORMATION
CONDITION:
Excessive paint thickness on certain rear suspension components may produce a condition that causes the Lower Trailing Link bolts and nuts to loosen.
This condition would initially produce an abnormal noise, but ultimately, the bolt could fall out resulting in possible loss of vehicle control.
Additionally the paint condition or the uneven mounting surface, could result in the rear stabilizer shackle, rear lateral link, and rear shock absorbers nuts
and bolts loosening. If this happens an abnormal noise will be heard.
CORRECTION:
To correct this condition, Remove Lower trailing Link Nuts and Bolts, and replace with New Lower Trailing Link Self-Lock Nuts and Bolts.
In addition, the following precautionary actions are also to be completed. Inspect and apply new Torque values to rear axle suspension components using
the procedure outlined in this bulletin, remove Stabilizer Shackle Nuts and Bolts and replace with New Unlock Nuts and Bolts.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use air tools. only use appropriate torque wrench when applying torque specifications. When possible, always torque on nut side, not the bolt
side. If torque wrench is placed on bolt side, incorrect values may occur. Bolt and Nut may still loosen if not torqued correctly.
DEALER RESPONSIBILITY
Isuzu dealers service all affected vehicles at no charge to the owner, regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership.
Whenever a vehicle subject to this campaign is in a dealer's vehicle inventory, or arrives at a dealership for service, the dealer must take the necessary
steps to ensure that this campaign correction has been made before selling or releasing the vehicle.
All unsold new vehicles in dealer's possession and subject to this campaign must be held and repaired per the service procedure in this Campaign
Bulletin before customers take possession of their vehicles.
OWNER NOTIFICATION
American Isuzu Motors Inc. (AIMI) will send a notification letter to owners of affected vehicles already retailed (See Enclosed Copy). Dealers should
follow up with vehicle owners by sending a Campaign Reminder Notice (AIMI SVCF-1052) to all vehicle owners listed in the AIMI Campaign Report
AWS 123-1A. Dealers may obtain these postcards from their Regional Office.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Lift vehicle on a hoist.
2.
Remove driver side & passenger side Lower Trailing Link Nut and Bolt, and replace with New Self-Lock Nut & bolt, and torque Nut. (Torque:
101 lb ft - Nut side) been made before selling or releasing the vehicle.
