Ignition Switch Does Not Turn To The Lock Position

1998-Current Rodeo (UE), Rodeo Sport (UA) and Amigo (UA) models equipped with automatic transmission.
Service Information
Condition:
The ignition switch does not turn to the LOCK position and the ignition key cannot be removed.
Possible Cause:
The shift lock cable between the lock cylinder assembly (ignition lock assembly) and the shift lever is out of adjustment.
Correction:
Inspect the adjustment of the shift lock cable at the lock cylinder assembly, if required follow the procedures in this bulletin to adjust the cable at the
shift lever.

Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover.
