Engine Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair
ECT Sensor
REMOVAL
NOTE: Care must be taken when handling Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect proper operation of
the fuel injection system.
- Negative battery cable.
- Drain engine coolant system.
- Intake manifold assembly. Refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.
- Electrical connector
- ECT sensor. Remove from rear of engine coolant transfer tube.
INSTALLATION
- ECT sensor. Apply sealer or equivalent to threads only.
- Tighten the ECT sensor to the specified torque
Torque
30 N-m (22 lb-ft)
- ECT sensor connector
- Intake manifold assembly
- Negative battery cable.
- Refill engine coolant system.
