WARNING TAG SERVICE CAMPAIGN
CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
Number 93S-902 has been assigned to this campaign. This number will appear on all communications and documentation of any nature dealing with this
campaign.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
1990-91 Trooper/Trooper II (KT) and 1991-92 Rodeo (UC) models equipped with V6 engine and automatic transmission.
SERVICE INFORMATION
It is extremely important that the A/T dipstick is properly reinstalled after checking the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) level. If the dipstick is not
locked, leaking ATF may contact the exhaust manifold, damaging the rubber hoses near the exhaust manifold. If the exhaust manifold is hot enough, it
could ignite the ATF, causing an engine compartment fire.
An A/T dipstick warning tag (Figure 1) must be installed to the A/T dipstick cap, to serve as a reminder to always lock the dipstick after checking ATF
level, and not to overfill with ATF.
This Campaign Bulletin describes A/T dipstick warning tag installation.
OWNER NOTIFICATION
Owners of affected vehicles have been notified by letter from American Isuzu Motors Inc. (copy enclosed). Some owners were sent an A/T dipstick
warning tag to install on their vehicle, with instructions for installation. If owners have any questions on installing the tag, they are directed to their
nearest Isuzu dealer for assistance.
