Oil Cooler: Service and Repair

1.

Place a pan under oil filter to catch any oil and water that may flow out of filter.

2.

Drain cooling system.

3.

Remove oil cooler water drain plug and allow coolant to drain.

4.

Disconnect oil cooler hoses at cooler side.

5.

Remove oil filter.

6.

Remove nut retaining oil cooler assembly, then remove oil cooler.

7.

Reverse procedure to install. Use a new O-ring and torque nut to 54-61 ft. lbs. (7.5-8.5 kg-m).
