Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair
Front

REMOVAL

1. Center console

Refer to "Body and Frame - Console"

2. Adjust nut

^

Loosen the adjusting nut of the rear cables.

3. Rear cables

^

Remove the rear cables from the brackets and disconnect the cables from the front cable.

4. Bolt
5. Parking brake lever

Disconnect the front cable from the lever joint. See: Parking Brake Lever/Service and Repair

6. Front cable

INSTALLATION

1. Front cable (6).
2. Parking brake lever (5).
3. Bolt (4).

^

 Tighten the adjusting nut to the specified torque.

Specs:
Bolt 6 Nm (52 lb. in.)

4. Rear cables (3).

^

Apply grease (BESCO L-2 or equivalent) to the connecting portion of the rear cable and equalizer.

5. Adjusting nut (2).

^

 Tighten the adjusting nut to the specified torque.

Specs:
Parking brake lever fixing bolt 6 Nm (52 lb. in.)

6. Center console (1).
