Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair

J-36831 Tie Rod End Remover

J-41468 Oil Seal Installer

PREPARATION:  Raise the vehicle and support the frame with suitable safety stands. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove the brake caliper.
Remove the hub assembly. Remove outer track rod from the steering knuckle. Remove the speed sensor (If equipped with antilock brake system) from
the steering knuckle.

REMOVAL 

1. Torsion bar. Loosen torsion bar by height control arm adjust bolt.
2. Wheel speed sensor (if equipped with ABS).
3. Back plate.

4. Lower ball joint.

CAUTION:  Be careful not to break the ball joint boot.

5. Upper ball joint.
6. Steering knuckle assembly.
7. Oil seal.
8. Washer.
