Align the new connector/capacitor (Illustration 1) with the butt-splice connectors.
14.
Insert green (G) pre-stripped cable from the connector/capacitor assembly into the butt-splice connector crimped to the green/white (G/W) cable.
15.
Crimp G cable from the connector/capacitor assembly to the butt-splice connector using special tool (418-116) from the harness repair kit.
16.
Insert brown (N) pre-stripped cable from the connector/capacitor assembly into the butt-splice connector crimped to the brown/red (N/R) cable.
17.
Crimp N cable from the connector/capacitor assembly to the butt-splice connector using special tool (418-116) from the harness repair kit.
18.
Slide one of the heat shrink tubes placed over the cables to cover one of the butt-splice connectors.
19.
Use a suitable heat source to shrink the tube around the butt-splice connector.
20.
Slide the second heat shrink tube placed over the cable to cover the second butt-splice connector.
21.
Use a suitable heat source to shrink the tube around the butt-splice connector.
22.
Connect the connector/capacitor assembly electrical connector to the brake pedal switch.
Note:
Ensure the brake pedal harness is routed away from the steering column.
23.
Connect battery (see Workshop Manual, JTIS CD ROM, section: 414-01).
24.
Remove fender protector covers, close hood.
25.
Power the driver's seat to the original position.
26.
Close driver's door.
