WINDSHIELD WASHER DIAGNOSIS
The following procedures should be used for inspecting, routing, and repairing the windshield washer hose in the cowl area of 1984-1985
Cherokee/Wagoneer vehicles. If repair of the hose is required, it can be spliced with connector 3220180 instead of replacing the entire length of hose.
HOSE INSPECTION
1.
Remove the windshield wiper arm assemblies. Refer to the M.R. 244 manual for procedures.
WINDSHIELD WASHER ASSEMBLY

Remove the screws attaching the fresh air intake grille to the cowl. Tilt the grille rearward for access to the supply hose (A) (see illustration).
3.
Inspect position and condition of the windshield washer supply hose (A) (see illustration). The hose must be routed around the front of the
windshield wiper motor bracket (B) as shown. Also check condition of the hose (A) in area (C) (see illustration). The hose must not be kinked,
abraded or cut.
a.
If the hose (A) is in good condition but is routed around the rear of the wiper motor bracket (B), proceed to Step 4.
b.
If the hose is damaged in area (C), proceed to Step 9.
4.
Carefully disconnect the hose (A) from the washer spray nozzle (D).
