INSTALLING REPLACEMENT CARGO FLOOR SKID STRIPS
An improved procedure for replacing the cargo floor skid strips in 1984-85 Cherokee/Wagoneer models has been developed. It is designed to provide a
tighter fit and improved appearance after installation.
The improved replacement procedure is as follows:

SKID STRIP REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the necessary rear quarter trim panels and raise the cargo floor carpet for access to the skid strips.
2.
Remove the original skid strips.
3.
Modify the replacement skid strips, P/N 8955 001 078, as follows:
a.
Shorten the retaining post (A) on each replacement skid strip end cap (B) by 2. mm (0.099-in.) (Fig. 1). Use a saw blade ensure a smooth,
accurate cut.
