Remove the four (4) mounting nuts to the rear tailgate control module. Remove the tailgate actuator assembly from the vehicle.

Remove the two (2) tailgate latch cover mounting screws. Release the seven (7) tailgate retaining cover latches and slightly pry the top alignment
tabs to remove the exterior cover. Discard the original cover.

!CAUTION

Use care not to damage or break the tailgate retaining cover latches that are integral to the rear latch.

8.

Remove the center pin from the cam gear, discard the original cam (5.0mm gear height) gear.
