Optima 02 Sensor ECM Upgrade
This bulletin provides information relating to an Optima 02 Sensor ECM upgrade. Some 2003-2004 MY Optima vehicles with 2.7L V6 engines may
experience "Check Engine" light ON with the following zirconium oxygen sensors related Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) stored in the engine control
module while accelerating and/or decelerating the vehicle at low speeds.

DTC P0133 - H025 Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1, Sensor 1)

DTC P0153 - H025 Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
Use the procedures in this bulletin to reprogram the Hi-Scan Pro, Engine Control Module (ECM) software for 2003-2004MY Optima vehicles with 2.7L
engines.

REPROGRAMMING PROCEDURE:
CAUTION
Conduct reprogramming with the ignition key in the "ON" position. Be careful NOT to disconnect any cables connected to the vehicle or Hi-Scan
Pro during reprogramming.
WARNING
If reprogramming is interrupted, the manual update procedure must be used.

Do not start the engine during reprogramming.

Do not turn the ignition key OFF during reprogramming.
^
When the reprogramming is completed, turn OFF the ignition key for 20 seconds before starting the engine.
Notes:
Verify that the vehicle is affected by identifying the vehicle production date and VIN.
To prepare for reprogramming in case of an error, write down the old and new ECM IDs displayed on the Hi-Scan Pro screen during the automatic
