Brake Rotor/Disc: Testing and Inspection

NOTE:

-

There must be no wheel bearing play.

The measurement location is the outer edge of the rotor face.

1. Measure the thickness of the rotor at four or more places.

Front (Min.) 18 mm (0.71 inches)

-

Rear (Min.) 8 mm (0.32 inches)

2. Using a suitable dial indicator, measure the runout at the outer edge of the pad contact surface of the rotor.

-

Runout: 0.1 mm (0.004 inches) maximum

NOTE: Excessive runout could be caused by a loose wheel hub bearing.
