Parking Brake Lever: Adjustments
1. With a force of approximately 11 kg (22 lbs.), the brake lever travel should be 6-8 notches. If not, adjust.
2. Start the engine and press the brake pedal several times while the vehicle is moving in reverse.
3. Stop the vehicle and remove the four rear console retaining screws.
4. Remove the adjusting nut clip and tighten or loosen the parking brake adjustment nut so that the brake lever stops within 6-8 notches.
5. Replace the adjusting nut clip and the rear console.
6. After adjustment, proceed as follows:
a. Turn the ignition switch ON, pull the parking brake lever one notch, and check that the parking brake warning lamp illuminates. If lamp does
not illuminate, loosen the screw that retains the brake switch and move the switch until the lamp illuminates. Tighten screw.
b. Release the lever and verify that the rear brakes do not drag.
