Wheel Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Front
REMOVAL
1. Raise and properly support the front of the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel to gain access to the sensor and its cable.
3. Remove the three rear-most screws that hold the inner plastic wheel-well splash shield in place. Pull the shield back to expose the sensor cable
connector and disconnect it.
4. Bend back the three sensor cable retaining tabs located in the wheel well. Also, slide the three cable grommets out of their bracket slots.
5. Remove the single mounting bolt securing the wheel speed sensor and draw it out of its bore. Protect the sensor's body from damage when it is not
being serviced.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean the body of the sensor and the bore into which it will install. Put a light coating of oil on the body of the sensor and install it into its bore.
Retain it with the single mounting bolt.

Tightening torque: 12-18 ft. lbs. (16-24 Nm).
