Differential Axle Housing: Service and Repair
DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING
Removal
1. Raise vehicle; remove wheels and brake drums.
2. Remove axle shafts.
3. Remove the drain plug and drain gear oil container. Install drain plug.
Tighten drain plug to 27 ft. lbs. (36 Nm).
4. Remove ABS sensor.
5. Using a line wrench, disconnect brake line from differential housing splitter block.
