Remove the inside door handle rod, the door lock knob rod and the power door lock actuator rod (if equipped) from the old door lock assembly
and install them onto the new door lock assembly in their same locations.
Notice:
If the vehicle is not equipped with power door locks, remove the retaining clip for the power door lock actuator rod from the new door lock
assembly
Door Handle and Lock Assembly Installation/Adjustment
1.
While holding the rods in their correct positions, carefully install the new lock assembly into the rear door.
2.
Re-install the three (3) door lock retaining screws and torque to specification.
Tightening Torque: 44 in lb (5 N.m)
CAUTION:
Do not overtighten the retaining screws.
3.
Install the new outside door handle into the rear door, then re-install the two (2) retaining nuts and torque to specification.
CAUTION:
Do not overtighten the retaining nuts.
Tightening Torque: 97 in lb (11 N.m)
4.
Attach the outside door handle rod to the lock assembly.
Notice:
Adjust the outside door handle by lifting the outside door handle rod upward until the bottom of the slot in the rod contacts it's plastic bushing.
Secure the retaining clip by pushing the rod in completely and snapping the lock tab into place.
