Intake Air Plenum: Service and Repair

Removal 

1. Remove the two bolts for the air intake hose.
2. Loosen the clamp at the throttle body intake hose.
3. Remove the four breather hoses from the intake duct at the throttle body.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector at the mass air flow sensor.
5. Loosen the air intake hose clamp at the air cleaner assembly.
6. Remove the bolt for the air intake hose bracket.
7. Remove the bolts for the mass air flow sensor.
8. Remove the air intake hose assembly.
9. Remove the accelerator cable bracket bolts.

10. Disconnect the accelerator cable.
11. Drain the engine coolant.
12. Remove the vacuum hose for the brake booster.
13. Disconnect the throttle position sensor electrical connector.
14. Disconnect the two coolant hoses from the throttle body.
15. Remove the clamp and the idle air control valve air hose.
16. Remove the clamp and the air hose from the air rail.
17. Disconnect the PCV hose from the dynamic chamber.
18. Remove the vacuum line from the pressure regulator.
19. Remove the vacuum line from the EGR valve.
20. Disconnect the electrical connector from the EGR solenoid.
21. Remove the cruise control vacuum lines from the dynamic chamber.
22. Disconnect the idle air control valve electrical connector.
23. Remove the two bolts and stay bracket from the dynamic chamber.
24. Remove the top two bolts from the manifold bracket.
25. Raise the vehicle on a lift.
26. Remove the two bottom bolts with the manifold bracket.
27. Lower the vehicle.
28. Remove the heater inlet hose at the elbow.
29. Remove the vacuum line at the vacuum pipe.
30. Remove the three nuts and bolts from the dynamic chamber assembly and remove the dynamic chamber assembly.
31. Remove the vacuum hose from the top of the throttle body.
32. Remove the throttle body.
33. Remove the two bolts and nuts to remove the solenoid valve assembly and bracket.
34. Remove the two bolts with the idle air control valve and bracket.
35. Remove the two bolts and the tube assembly. 

Installation 

1. Clean the gasket surfaces of the throttle body and dynamic chamber.
2. Install the solenoid valve assembly and bracket and tighten the two bolts and nuts.
3. Install the idle air control valve and tighten the two bolts.
4. Install the tube assembly and tighten the two bolts.
5. Position the gasket for the throttle body.
6. Install the throttle body and tighten the two nuts and bolts.
7. Install the gasket for the dynamic chamber.
8. Install the dynamic chamber.
9. Tighten the dynamic chamber nuts and bolts.

10. Connect the PCV hose to the dynamic chamber.
11. Install the air hose to the air rail.
12. Install the idle air control valve bracket.
13. Connect the idle air control valve electrical connector.
14. Install the heater inlet hose at the elbow.
15. Install the idle air control valve hose.
16. Install the cruise control vacuum line to the dynamic chamber.
17. Install the brake booster vacuum line to the dynamic chamber.
18. Connect the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.
19. Connect the electrical connector to the EGR solenoid.
20. Connect the vacuum hose to the EGR valve.
21. Install the top two bolts to the manifold bracket. Do not fully tighten the bolts.
22. Raise the vehicle on a lift.
23. Install and tighten the bottom two bolts for the manifold bracket.
